Saskatoon Manlift Certification

Saskatoon Manlift Certification

Saskatoon Manlift Certification - The Manlifts and Elevated Platforms program offers training on the rules, regulations and correct application of safe operating procedures and work practices involved in daily activities for individuals who work using this machine. The course has been designed for individuals who are actively involved in these activities or individuals who have a basic understanding of this equipment.

During the past couple of decades, manlifts and aerial platforms have become a common sight in industrial maintenance applications and on construction job sites. These equipment provide an easy way to lift staff near what needs to be done on a stable platform apparatus, enabling employees to do tasks with greater safety and comfort rather than being perched on top of ladders or scaffoldings.

The manlift is similar to other industrial devices in that they are safe if utilized correctly. Because they lift staff above floor or ground level, accidents could happen easily and this can cause serious injuries or fatalities for both the manlift operators and whoever passerby who might be unlucky enough to be standing below.

There are different types of manlifts. Nearly all fall into 1 of 2 categories: the articulating boom lift, which has the capability of both vertical and horizontal movement and the scissors lift, which is capable of moving upward and downward.

Protecting Workers

Right training is vital when it comes to safety matters. Many of the companies which rent manlifts would offer training at the jobsite. Each and every worker who will be working on the machinery or operating it needs to receive training in safe operations. It is also important that only those employees who have received training must be authorized to operate the controls. Communication rules and operating procedures must be clear. Thus, workers on the ground must not operate controls without the knowledge and approval of any employees inside the basket.

The employees that occupy the basket would be required to wear the proper fall protection gear which comprises a lanyard and harness. The fall protection connects to the manlift easily. The worker needs to make certain that she or he has made whatever adjustments required to reflect the change in fall distance if there are changes in the height of the work area.

To make certain that the manlift is in good operating condition, manlifts need to be inspected and tested every day. Prior to utilizing the machine, whatever defects should be re-checked and repaired.
