Saskatoon Order Picker License - Order picking is otherwise known as order preparation operation. This is one of the main processes within a warehouse and consists of people known as order pickers, collecting and taking articles in a certain quantity previous to shipment so as to complete customer orders. Order picking is a basic warehousing method. The efficiency in which this task is done can be directly connected to the productivity of a supply chain. Hence, order picking is amongst the most controlled logistic methods. Order picking falls in the category of the warehouse management system.

There are some certain kinds of order picking. The main kinds consist of: pick to box method, wave picking method, piece picking or picker to part method, zone picking method and sorting systems method.

The pick to box method comprises the order picker only filling the boxes with things which are from their specific station. The box then moves on to other locations to until the order is finish. In this particular technique, there is no movement of the order picker employees. In the wave picking method, the order pickers move round to be able to collect the needed items for some orders. The picker to part method or piece picking is similar where the order picker or pickers move so as to collect the items required but for one order only.

In the sorting systems method, there is no movement of the order picking employees. Instead, the products are brought to her or him via an automated system like for example a conveyor system or an automatic storage. In the zone picking method, each order picker is assigned to one specific area. They are responsible for only realizing order picking within this particular zone.
